Tubes / Re: Western Electric 300Bs 2019 new production

My apologies Steve for not replying to your question. The only forum I sporadically post on is the Hoffman forum  these days. We always have in stock match pairs of the Takatsuki tubes however with the decline in the dollar against every other currency seemingly in the world, the retail is now $2500 a pair. I also have a matched quad of 1967 manufacture WE 300b tubes for sale if you are interested in. They were an original supply from AN for a pair of Kegon Balanced monoblocks which were never installed. Shame about this bloody virus, there was a hifi show starting Friday afternoon in sydney if but for the grace of God.

G'day Steve. The company I am working for now is selling hi end cable ties and heat shrink. We mainly sell to OEM and military. Time to upgrade me thinks?  ;D ;D

That's the problem with very old, tends to be very rare.

Be nice if the cost of the VSF's could go the same way with the new machinery, but I fear the winding machines might not be suitable and maybe they need to be done by hand, but I live in hope :)

I have always wanted to get some seeing as I have ML-1's but being on a limited fixed budget have never often had the ability to make the move....or some of the Aurealis Audio Litz would have been nice too.
This changed the other week as I was able to grab some of the older RibbonTek speaker cables and Interconnects used, and I must say I wish this happened sooner, they really do work well in my system.

I can only imagine how much better the latest FoilFlex cables are, but I'm very chuffed at what these older ones do. Granted I moved from some modest but OK Neotech ones, first off everything seemed louder and dynamics very noticeably better, bass seems more articulate and transients are faster, more detail over all and nice tonality too.
I had the new set of the latest RibbonTek speaker cables here recently, but never tried them mainly because my cables are hard wired to the speakers. I probably should have, they looked tasty. Sold them for $600

Aye, I've a Muji Studio DAC II where I've been upgrading parts in it that sounds really very nice.... I expect the Abbas will be a significant step up from it though  :)
Always interested let us know. I have been trying a modright modified OPPO player. More on that soon.

Wow . Its christms early . This will  now bring state of the art parts within reach of  most audiophiles .
Now a strong competitor price wise to the Jupiter . Great news .
But is the new product as good. I find the newer models are more like changing the flavor, than improving them. I have been trying some old caps recently and they are nice, just different really. Sick of paying an arm and a leg for capacitors. That is why i am trying the great old stuff. But in the long run VSF still rule. interestingly a friend gave me some old 1950 - 60s German square oil tin canister caps .47 and they where brilliant, but rare. They sounded so close to the VSF just a little different but just as good. I would have lived with them but one unfortunately died after a few days,,,,, just bad luck.

Duelund's recent acquisition of machinery from Jensen is paying off for us users already.

In this link Jeff says Frederik has said they aim to offer more products in coming months priced accordingly  8)
