A normal process for me before I start a new project is to do study for 6 to 12 months on the subject.... :D

Reinhard and Klaus just left my house after a listening session.
I promised them pictures of my Transport power supply, the closed box underneath.

You must have lots of room at your place Erik!  Your cd transport power supply unit is as big as my whole hifi rack.

Yours is much more elegant yet still beasty in appearance though. Well done and thanks for sharing!     Did Klaus and Reinhard enjoy themselves?   Have you had a chance to check out Klaus' giant monster-sized horns?

I am building a Mini Pibull for my best (audio) friend.
Mission it has to sound better than his Wadia and needs to be small....so a two box operation.

I use a Sanyo laser and JVC chipset since that synergy starts breathtaking already......it has that couple of percentages extra that brings it close to turntables (when perfected ofcourse)

Here is a pic of the one I build for my other audiobuddy....no need to say that his former transport (also a Wadia was sold very quickly)

So I begin at the very start obtain my El Cheapo stuff to make thing happen  :o

Exchange some parts to get the least deviation because no need to say that you get what you pay for  ;D

Take the board of the laserplatform is the first logical step...and exchange it with an identical platform which holds a laser endswitch and motorprint

You have to build a digital out...since it is a full ghettoblaster cd player  :P

It is a bit roughly build in order to easy experiment with the resistors later on (brands)

When you get a feel for the sound of the new clocks.   Start changing the caps on the clock board to see what happens.
It's all about the music,, not the equipment.
