Mate wanted me to steal the signal early in his Rotel player passing it through some quality caps like I had done in my Marantz, the Rotel is a better implemented TDA1541 player than many of the cheaper ones, black gates throughout, .22uf decoupling caps around the DAC chip and a more symmetrical circuit from the DAC chip to the RCAs.
I should have snagged one of these instead of my CD65.
Anyway, used some 1uf Miflex Copper Paper Oil caps, only around 10 hours up so far but already starting to open up a little and more detail evident compared with first hour.
Will be interesting to see how they progress while I still have it with me. Edit: I know of one guy at least that says he likes these better than the Jupiter Copper's.
