Title: Teac VRDS-10
Post by: Upfront on September 24, 2010, 10:57:15 PM
My new transport safe and well. As soon as it was through the door I had it in pieces trying to work out what had been done.
It has a trichord 2 clock.
A BNC connection.
And IEC fitted.
And internal DAC apparently disconnected but can't see that's the case.

Hopefull my amps are back on Wednesday so I can actually hear it!

Sorry about the poor pics. hard work taking photos of the inards! Basically its a tricord 2 16.9344Mhz.
the rest is very standard looking.

Are they very tiny caps next to the crystal?

Hi Upfront,

Have you got pic's of the actual unit? I'm curious what it looks like.

I'm also curious how it would compare to my modded CD50?

May I ask how much you paid?  Feel fre to send me a pm if you prefer?

Cheers, flemo.

Hey Flemo. I'll post some pics tomorrow. It was $550 in the end. Well worth it I think. Haven't seen another for sale. It's a very impressive bit of gear. It's very heavy and the most solidly built piece of audio equipment from a main stream manufacturer (hope that makes sense).

yeah T1 and the 10 are completely different. The 10 is the real deal. Its about 10kg of pressed steel. More layers of it than an onion

Sounds like a good buy mate, will be interesting to compare transports.  I'll have to have a transport GTG in the near future.
