Mario,
out of interest, do you know how many hours were on each of the tube types. I seem to recall reading that the treasures needed a lot of time on them.

Thanks Mario,
I assumed that was the case. Interesting to read, after some of the buzz elsewhere.

USD 110, good price indeed. I found USD 150 for grade B and USD 200 for grade A here http://www.grantfidelity.com/site/TJ_Full_music_6SN7

Some day when I move on to valves...

Dont have any fancy tube testing machine, but i got some 'grade C' & grade 'B' Sophia 6sn7's, (TJ equivalents) been using them for nearly 9mths now, cant sonically tell the difference. Personally, i think its a marketing ploy to 'differentiate' the seller to market competition.

I agree. Smells like marketing, there may be small differences in measurement, Grade, A, B, C. But i don't think you will hear any differences.

MCB , very kindly lent me his FM 6sn7's and they sound gorgeous , very musical and with a less in yer face sound than the Tung sol reissues I was using.
-
Good to see that they are doing the job in your system Gordon.
They appear to be the pick of the current production 6SN7's.
-
Still loving the FM6SN7'S so I have ordered a pair of these http://thetubestore.com/jan6l.html to hopefully take things to the next level.
-
Well the new os Jan Phillips 6l6wgb have arrived and are running in but I am over the moon with the sound so far.
The sound , well let's just say it's the stuff goosebumps are made of :)

Nice to hear about the new Sino 6SL7s. The grading system is based on the results of a curve tracer the tubes are tested on at the factory and as far as Grant goes, and maybe others, they pay more and also give a longer warranty on the tubes. I have a pair of the Shuguang Treasure 300Bs that are in the 85% range(from Grant). I got them from a friend who has been trying to get them back, but they are better that the Full Musics I had been using and I am keeping them.
The best 6SL7s I have tried so far are RCA VT-229s which are around the same price as the new ones out of China. Nice to get an opinion about the FM vs the Shaggies.
