zen amp
1 x zen amp channel fired up last night on bench.
Worked perfectly 1st go, biased up perfectly.
150W 8 ohms / 240W 4 ohm - plenty of power for my little ML1's.
FR was past 1MHz - 100kHz square wave, no probs - had put some HF limiting in,
don't need to listen to radio stations.
No coupling caps required anywhere - OP drift is low.
Hopefully tonight 1st listening test.

The one in the pic is a proto to drive my ML1's.
If it sounds really good, I may make some more and sell them. The design has some pretty good features like no caps in sig path
/ no DC servos. Which is a bonus cost wise, 4 x Duelunds / amp = :o
It also can be built for a decent price given it's a pretty powerful amp (300W / 4).
Having said that there are some pretty decent Chinese offerings around for stupid cheap money ATM = tough market place.
Should be running very soon.

Finished bench testing both channels this morning 5.00am. :'( Tonight will start listening / tuning. ;D
Looks like it should be a very good amp for driving ESL's (electrostatic speakers) which are very difficult capacitive load and require good power OP.
Last night I was driving 50kHz square wave with a 2.2uF cap shorted directly across amps OP. No probs whatsoever and not much ringing.

Bench tested, assembled and 99% wired up.
Soft start installed, main filter caps very large and could possible blow up the (200A surge) rectifier diodes.
Additional choke filtering also added.
Just have to connect input wires. :)
Oz, we were discussing time management, how many hours you reckon are in this?

I would estimate around 3 days work to assemble if you ignore tea and meal breaks but the first one always takes considerably longer due to working out layouts / mountings etc. Building them in minimum batches of 10 you may reduce timings somewhat.

Hehe, :) . Well, I'm no electronics engineer, but I have a sneaking suspicion that you've spent more time developing the design, than you have doing the build.
How many hours invested? A log book would be useful. ;)

A question everyone will have is, can it deliver the holographic flesh and bone, that the best tube amps deliver?
