Title: Octal Akido
Post by: ozcal on September 04, 2012, 05:55:51 PM
Hi guys , what are folks thoughts on John Broksie's Akido line stages?
I have purchased a pair of octal akido mono boards and his Janus shunt regulator.
I can use the boards to build a new pre or as an output stage for one of my TDA1541A based dacs.
I plan to use Lundahl 1674 output transformers rather than cap coupling , good idea ?
If I go down the pre route I have one of these : http://www.diyhifisupply.com/node/734 to use for volume and switching duties.
If I go down the dac output stage route I plan to use 6sl7's as the first tube and 6sn7's as the second tube all tubes are Full Music.
Any input will be greatfully recieved.
Cheers,
Gordon
