Good autoformer based volume controllers :)   Seems like it's merits are catching on..   any else have experience with these? compared to other forms of volume control/attenuation?

I've been using one for a while already :)  bought it a custom one from omodo a while ago.   In my opinion it is very transparent. Allows dynamics and clarity to come through with ease(very noticeable even at low volumes).  That's in comparison to what I'm using at the moment which is a TKD 100K pot.    Currently I have lent it out to yoshio as he has no form of volume controller for his system until he gets his active preamp.   When I get it back, I'm happy to lend it around for people to experience how these autoformer controllers work like on their system :)

A beauty .....lovely veryvery... old concept....still going strong.... 8)

For my sick perfection I have a gutfeeling that maybe a WBT NextGen RCA is more in line with this particular set-up/concept......mind you I can just as easily be wrong in a listening shoot-out between the RCA's involved... ;)

No doubt using a higher quality rca socket (like wbt, eichmann, etc) would be more in-line!   For my even sicker perfection, I plan to remove the modules from the casing and solder the modules straight into my DAC output caps, then also shortening the internal wiring between the output caps to the dac's output rca sockets, thus removing 1 pair of gold plated rca sockets PLUS a pair of interconnects all together! LESS IS MORE! (in my books)  I have a pair of eichmann sockets ready to replace them with :)

Unfortunately, I don't think I'm crazy enough to cut and shorten my $500 1m interconnects to ~0.4m, as that is as long as I need...    OR AM I??!  :-X  >:(  :o

Now we are talking !!  ;D

BTW I was not questioning your RCA "quality" but referring to the ditch-the-metal-parts "vision" (Eichmann plugs) hence the sugestion about the RCA WBT NextGen  ;)
