Alternative to RCA/XLR connectors
« on: June 11, 2011, 11:49:08 PM »
With a few folk tidying up their wiring for I2S and external batteries etc. I thought to link to http://diyparadise.com/forum/index.php?PHPSESSID=6799410598ca2c23bfc876eac6c28ab7&topic=1256.0 a thread covering a rather interesting range of connectors.
Pricing from Farnell/Element14 is rather steep compared to the German pricing.  Perhaps someone will find a better source.

I've got a heap of 6pin redel/lemo sockets from an old preamp project, they would be perfect for i2s (i.e. 3 twisted pairs), send me a pm if interested.

agree with the op, these would have to be better than rca for i2s, plus you could carry all 3 signals in the one cable...

There used to be an australian agent for lemo, not sure if they are still around of competitive with farnell: lemo@johnbarry.com.au
