pure red copper?

(1/2) > >>

yarhevarhe:
Does anyone know what pure red copper is?

stevenvalve:
I was told it could handle high temperature, but is it just a red coating. I know it sounds colder, more analytical than the yellow stuff. WHY

yarhevarhe:
I will see what I can find out,...hopefully something

yarhevarhe:
It would appear that pure red copper can be many types of Copper... T2, T3, TU1, TU2, TP1, TP2, C11000 and there are probably other types.  The purity seems to be 99.9% and higher.   Overall, quite a few types and it seems to also depend on the country of origin.

stevenvalve:
I have been to a transformers manufacturer, He said they use the high temperature red coloured wire because it is more robust, and they find it more reliable and less returns. Is that true, no idea. does the yellow wire have a lower melting point. It does have a sound that is very different than the yellow wire and not to my liking, but it will also be so system dependant.
