Loved the look of that series of Studer/ Revox stuff Pete.
Apparently well put together too.
Listening with my ears :)

are you bidding on the first one Flemo? I've had it on my watch list, along with another one in the UK. I'm pretty keen on it, hence my disinterest in the 960 the other day, maybe we can avoid bidding against each other

i'm surprised this is still available...

http://www.audiolab.com/Wadia_WT_3200_Cd_Transport_Pre_Owned_p/wadwt3200.htm

I was quoted 255 USD delivery.

some pre-loved wear.. i'm sure it would look good as new with some TLC and some danny magic will bring it back to new condition

If i had an option of a cd960 or wadia i know which i would choose.

Still in limbo mate, the PCB (and seperated chip) won't return for at least 2-3 weeks so it's on hold.

I'm really liking the idea of the Studer A727, but not entirely sure if it's a wise move going against the more accepted Philips/Marantz choices, even though it uses the CDM1 and TDA1541A S1. Does anyone here have any direct experience with them, or compared one to a CD960 or CD94?

unfortunately the price for either player (a727 or a cd94) are not insignificant amounts - I woke up at 4am for the ending of the A727 I was watching but it went for $830 (plus another $250 postage), especially considering they are now ~25 year old CD players... also needing to go back to the disc swapping ritual, burning my large flac collection (~1.5tb of 100% log/accuraterip verified rips/albums) back to cd, etc. I think I need to think a lot more before dropping the large chunk of cash on one of these transports

I've briefly heard crazikid's wadia (albeit stock) in my system, I might see if I can arrange another listen of his player when he finishes the mods to see if going back to cd playback is the way to go forward, so to speak

bit rich for me by the time you factor in shipping, plus the lack of detail and poor photos doesn't inspire confidence

this looks ok, Revox B126: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/Revox-B-126-B126-High-End-CD-Player-12M-GARANTIE-5246-/230546224737

that's been listed for a while, looks like he's increased the price too??

Marantz CD-880J, guess it's a Philips CD-880 rebadged for the Japanese market - http://www.hifido.co.jp/KW/G0401/P0/A10/E/0-10/S0/C07-31891-93927-00/

This Wadia looks nice, but a bit rich for me - http://www.hifido.co.jp/KW/G0408/P0/A10/E/0-10/S0/C10-52694-74911-00/

The wadia is the very close cousin of the esoteric p-2.

I am quite interested in that particular model actually!
