william.. those chokes look nice. i'm sure they would sound super in your system.

I almost got those chokes on eBay last time but missed out because I wasn't sure about the spec, then someone bought it right after the seller answered my question. Steven is still fuming that I didn't tell/ask him about it. I believe the S version means special series which could be the better version than commercial/standard ones, but who knows until we really listen to them...

The PDF I linked above gives a description of the CG (commercial grade) and S (special series audio), based on the descriptions I'd say commercial grade is probably the better of the two

that is the key word and also system dependent and you can change something else in the chain to get the balance

I'm interested to know the reasoning behind using Vintage chokes, over a quality new production choke, something like a Lundahl for example. I can see there would be an improvement over the small/cheap chokes I've seen in some of the DAC pics, but against a top quality choke would the vintage chokes still be better?


Vintage chokes are not wound (pushed) as hard, and do not use recycled metals as do modern iron.
