MSB - DAC
« on: March 03, 2012, 03:22:30 AM »
well, if there is a quote for a DAC (even if it is not self-built) for all known hardware sources and software

"...sounding more analog-like than many turntables people listen to..."

then it might perhaps be of interest:

Have played around with the battery powered MSB PowerDAC  paired with First Sound Presence valve preamp on my system.  Very impressive sounding combo.  Amazing holographic imaging and 3d soundstage.  Amazing detail retrieval from well recorded material.   Even balance from highs to lows, with no noticeable rolloffs.

I think the excellent preamp played quite a big part to the overall sound though.

I haven't heard any of these more expensive Platnium series MSB dacs though.

If you want analog-like,  just get a turntable! ;) Being a lover of music, I feel it's great to be able to play and enjoy any format in my system. Whether it is digital computer format files, cd or vinyl!       Friend recently kindly gave me a bunch of classical lp records as he knew I was into classical.  How to enjoy, if I didn't have a turntable! :):)
